Notes do mean something, Notes represent how many people like a picture, gif, video whatever, and by this the creator knows what content is popular therefore can create more like it. But if people like you repost then he doesn't get the notes and doesn't get the rightful feedback, therefore the whole systems fails. - Anonymous

    That is the biggest load of crud I’ve ever read. If you’re so presumptuous as to write something where you are telling someone what to do then you are incredibly stupid.

    If the original creator doesn’t get the notes on his/her blog that doesn’t matter. What matters is that the picture gets notes, and so the creator will still get feedback just the notes won’t be on a post on his /her blog they will be on another users blog.
